聚酰胺纤维,中文名:尼龙(Nylon),纤维学名为聚酰胺(polyamide)纤维。
是杜邦公司所生产之聚己二酰己二胺之商品名﹐即一般通称为尼龙六六(Nylon 66)。聚酰胺纤维是个合成高分子聚合物商业化之合成纤维制品﹐其为在1937年由美国杜邦公司卡罗瑟斯(Caarothers)研究发明聚六甲基己二酰胺(即尼龙六六酰)﹐因而开启了合成纤维的页﹐其至今仍是聚酰胺纤维的代表。
聚酰胺纤维性能:
聚酰胺纤维突出的优点为耐磨性较其它纤维优越﹐其次为它的弹性佳﹐其弹性回复率可媲美羊毛﹐还有其质轻﹐比重为1.14﹐在已商业化之合成纤维中﹐其仅次于聚丙烯(丙纶﹐比重小于1),而较聚酯纤维(比重1.38)轻﹐因此聚酰胺纤维可加工成细匀柔软且平滑之丝﹐供织造成美观耐用之织物﹐另其同聚酯纤维一样具耐腐性﹐不怕虫蛀﹐不怕发霉之优点。
聚酰胺纤维之缺点为耐旋光性稍差﹐如在室外长时间受日照时﹐则易生黄﹐强度下降﹐与聚酯丝相比其保型形性较差﹐因此织物较不够挺拔﹐还有其纤维表面光滑﹐较有蜡状感﹐关于这些缺点近年来已研究出各种改善措施﹐如加入耐光剂以改善耐旋光性﹐或制成异型断面以改善外观及光泽﹐以DTY或ATY加工或与其它纤维混纺或交织﹐以改善手感。
